Product Leader & Builder · Cincinnati / Phoenix / Remote

Product leader who builds.

10+ years leading product, strategy, and AI innovation across fintech, tax, and HCM. Still hands-on in the build, I connect strategy to what actually ships.

01 — The Journey

One career, five disciplines

I came up through engineering, design, research, and product before I led teams. Because I've done each role, I know what every function needs and where the handoffs break down.

  1. Now

Director of Platform Product Ryan (Tax.com)

Platform vision across IAM, entry experiences, and shared services powering 20+ products. Built platformOS, an AI-native operating system that turned our knowledge base into a living graph and transformed how the team plans and ships.

  2. 2024

    Director of Product ModuleQ

Co-led AI innovation with data science. LLMs, embeddings, agentic RAG that won three Tier-1 banks. Stood up LLMOps with Langfuse to catch drift before it reached users.

  3. 2020

Director of Product & Design Luma

Built the product, design, and analytics org from zero. Helped close Morningstar and NASDAQ partnerships.

  4. 2018

    Group Product Manager Paycor

Directed 5 senior PMs across 8 squads. IAM, SSO, platform, and a 4.7-star mobile app.

  5. 2016

    Product Designer Paycor

Owned design and research for the platform portfolio. Facilitated 20+ client workshops.

  6. 2014

UX Architect Western & Southern Financial

Learned product design from the ground up while helping shape direction at a large enterprise. Worked daily with engineers, clients, and business stakeholders to get it right.

  7. 2010

    Software Engineer (Consultant) Sogeti

Upon graduation from Wright State with my B.S. in Biomedical Engineering I joined Sogeti as a front end developer and product designer working with various clients and verticals.

platformOS

Director of Platform Product · AI-native product operating system · Ryan (Tax.com) · 2025–present

Problem Every product org has a knowledge base nobody trusts. Strategy, roadmaps, and engineering artifacts live in separate tools and drift out of sync, so alignment happens in meetings instead of in the work.

What I did Built platformOS, a team-wide knowledge graph that became the single source of truth for how we build product. It links Azure DevOps, Jira, GitHub, and Aha into a living web of strategy, context, and engineering artifacts that our 15-person platform org commits to and queries. The graph generates the technical plans behind story creation, which turned traditional agile into an AI-SDLC and collapsed recurring grooming, refinement, and planning ceremonies into graph-generated plans. Now/next/later roadmaps stay in sync automatically, from executive presentations down to end-of-week reviews. It started at ModuleQ linking commits, stories, and discovery artifacts; at Ryan I took it further into a full knowledge graph.

ModuleQ

Director of Product · AI insights for investment banking · 2024–2025

Problem Investment bankers drown in information and neglect their CRM. Insights arrive too late to shape the deal, and every "AI assistant" waits to be prompted.

What I did Co-led AI innovation with the data science team. We built unprompted, personalized workflows in Microsoft Teams using LLMs, embeddings, and agentic RAG. I ran innovation sessions with senior bankers to find the frictions worth solving, then converted proof-of-value pilots into enterprise wins across three Tier-1 GSIB banks. I also stood up LLMOps with Langfuse for observability, prompt management, and tracing, validated against a gold-standard eval set to catch drift before it reached global banking users.

Luma Financial

Director of Product & Design · Structured products fintech · 2020–2024

Problem A fast-growing fintech with no product org, no design system, and a platform straining under global expansion into EMEA and LATAM.

What I did Built the product, design, and analytics org from 0 to 5. Shipped a full UI/UX overhaul on a new design system with 80+ reusable components, instrumented 500+ features with Pendo, and closed exclusive distribution partnerships with Morningstar and NASDAQ that repositioned Luma as the category leader.

Paycor

Group PM ← PM ← Product Designer · HCM platform · 2016–2020

Problem An HCM platform scaling into enterprise territory with architecture, identity, and mobile experiences built for a smaller company.

What I did Grew from product designer to Group PM directing 5 senior PMs across 8 squads. Rebuilt multi-EIN architecture for enterprise clients, scaled the notification engine past 100,000 daily messages, and led the mobile app to a 4.7-star iOS rating with 22,000 reviews.

Leaders who ship stay sharp

Strategy decks don't keep you honest. Production code does. These are live, self-built, and in daily use.

04 — About

Player-coach. By choice.

I'm a product leader who never stopped building. I started as a software engineer, moved through UX research and product design, then product management, then leading product orgs. I've sat in every seat on a product team, so I relate to everyone on it and I can get in the weeds when it counts.

Lately my focus is enterprise AI. At ModuleQ I co-led AI innovation that shipped LLM, embedding, and agentic RAG workflows to three Tier-1 investment banks, the kind of customer that scrutinizes everything. At Ryan I built platformOS, an AI-native product operating system that turned our knowledge base into a living graph and transformed how the team plans and ships.

I stay hands-on on purpose. I build side projects, experiment with new AI tooling, and bring what I learn back to my teams. Staying close to the craft is how I lead with credibility. I lead as a player-coach: I build trust through delivery, translate technical work for executive audiences, and care as much about how a team operates as what it puts out.

Off the clock: competitive beach volleyball, whatever new tech I can get my hands on, and chasing country number 40.
